Overview

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) is the first national applied University in the State of Qatar, offering applied Bachelors and Master’s degrees in addition to certificates and diplomas in various fields. Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head, Career Services, the successful candidate will provide effective career guidance and career development support to students and graduates, working in collaboration with a range of UDST employees to ensure the service is tailored to and meet the needs of students.

 

The successful candidate will do :

  1. Support in the execution of comprehensive career services programs and initiatives, that meet the needs of the student population.
  2. Document and record policies that govern career services operations; including but not limited to career counselling, student employment, external employer relations and career fair organization.
  3. Provide career advising, counselling and support to students; guide them on resume and cover letter reviews, job search strategy coaching and interview preparation.
  4. Support in the organization of the annual career fair of the University, other career events, workshops and programs for students.
  5. Support the student employment processes, by ensuring all stages are successfully executed and deliverables are met.
  6. Support and assist students in securing and completing work term placements.
  7. Support in conducting career assessment for students using career tools and techniques, to determine their suitability for potential career paths.
  8. Develop career-related resources, such as career guides, tip sheets, and online tools, that students can use to further their career goals.
  9. Maintain a database of employers, with key contact information, to assist students with identifying potential career opportunities.
  10. Ensure that all documentation pertaining to the career services function of the University are updated and accurately documented.
  11. Assist in collecting and analyzing data on career services programs and initiatives that will support data-driven decision making on career program development and improvement

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required

 

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of related experience such as career advising, student counselling and related.

 

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English language is required.

 

Other Required Skills:

Highly detail-oriented individual with a proactive can-do attitude to work is essential. A commitment to positive relationship building and effective working relationships across all levels of the organizations is required. Knowledge of Recruitment, Admissions and registrations processing is required. Candidates should demonstrate explanatory communication and interpersonal skills.
