University of Doha for Science and Technology – Admissions and Registration Directorate - Profile:   

University of Doha for Science and Technology – Admissions and Registration Directorate is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Admissions Senior Specialist.  Reporting to the Manager, Admissions, the Admissions Senior Specialist must possess the skills and expertise necessary to support the Admissions and Registration Directorate of the University and fully implementing UDST’s mission and vision.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:     

This position requires an energetic and meticulous individual to support in developing and implementing the Admission Strategies of the University, ensuring both quantitative and qualitative recruitment targets are met. S/He will provide regular reporting of information relevant to admission trends and forecasting including analyzing of application data.

 

The successful candidate will coordinate the processing of all student application from submission, ensuring that applications are handled in a timely manner and within the standards set by the institution. S/He will analyze applicant and Cohort data in detail to identify contributing factors to applicant success.

 

The successful candidate will deliver admissions information, program information, placement assessment information, Ministry validation/equivalency requirements and all other pertinent information to the prospective students and applicants to facilitate student enrolment. S/He will also assist potential students, parents and other information seekers regarding programs offered.

 

The successful candidate will utilize UDST Student Information System to enter application data and generate correspondence with the applicant to communicate and record application status updates.

 

The successful candidate will determine initial eligibility for testing based on program choice, ensure that appropriate testing requirements are communicated and facilitated. S/He will re-activate discontinued students from previous semesters who wish to continue their studies based on capacity, as per UDST enrolment policies and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will compile and input all necessary changes to applicants’ admissions records and updates to the applicants’ file as required. S/He will contact applicants to offer acceptance and ensure verification of confirmation to safeguard acceptance are communicated in a timely and efficient manner.

 

The successful candidate will ensure access to accurate information and Transfer applications to alternate programs upon applicant’s request, in compliance with university admissions policies and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will update applicant files for waitlisted students who have not been accepted into programs at the end of each term, and update the applicants’ admission record if applicant wishes to remain on the waiting list. S/ He will archive records where students wish to withdraw their admissions request, and ensure an efficient maintenance of the records.

 

The successful candidate will notify the Manager, Student Success And Counselling of any special needs an applicant may have, so that their needs assessed are accommodated for as per UDST policies and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will ensure accurate record keeping by assisting in data maintenance and record maintenance and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Business Administration required

Master’s degree/Professional certification preferred

 

Experience:

Minimum of 6 years of admissions coordination experience

 

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English language required

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language preferred

 

Other Required Skills:

Highly detail oriented, can-do attitude to work and good time management is preferred. Candidate should be a team player and possess ability for process design and focus on efficiency. Candidate should also demonstrate quality and service excellence. Recruitment, admissions and registrations process should be handled in an exemplary manner.
