Overview

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) was officially established by the Emiri Decision No13 of 2022, and it is the first national university specializing in academic applied, technical, and professional education in the State of Qatar. UDST has over 70 bachelor's and master's degree programs, diplomas, and certificates. The university houses 5 colleges: The College of Business, the College of Computing and Information Technology, the College of Engineering and Technology, the College of Health Sciences, and the College of General Education, in addition to specialized training centers for individuals and companies. UDST is recognized for its student-centered learning and state-of-the-art facilities. Its world-renowned faculty and researchers work on developing the students’ skills and help raise well-equipped graduates who proudly serve different sectors of the economy and contribute to achieving human, social, and economic development goals nationally and internationally.

Responsibilities

Strategic

Support with the development of Student Engagement’s business plan in alignment with UDST’s strategy, through its initiatives and projects.

Operational

Manage the execution of various extracurricular programs (multi-cultural events) as well as student orientation to ensure a balanced educational and social environment.

Monitor and manage the development and delivery of a variety of student enrichment activities and events with a creative approach to increase student participation and overall student experience.

Monitor the analysis of student feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and to ensure relevance to student life and continuous improvement of activities offered.

Manage the development and enforcement of the Students’ Code of Conduct across UDST, in compliance with the applicable laws and cultural imperatives of the State of Qatar.

Promote, enable and monitor student discipline and focus on minimizing behavioral violations to support the functioning of a safe and welcoming campus environment.

Participate in and manage regular student forums and meetings to ensure opportunities for communication and student participation.

Provide support to the Student’ Council and other student groups and bodies through leadership, organizational and resource development and advice.

Extend support in offering guidance to council representatives and encouraging the generation of innovative ideas.

Support the Manager, Student Engagement towards creation of a welcoming campus environment through the planning and implementation of student activities that support student recruitment, retention and the successful achievement of academic and career goals.

Support Student Affairs to organize Student Orientation, ensuring students are informed about enrichment activities.

Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, processes, guidelines governing all aspects of Student Engagement.

Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

People Management

Provide professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on UDST’s Employee Performance Management framework to ensure continual high performance of employees in alignment with UDST's mission and mandate.

Contribute to the development of employees through identifying appropriate learning and development opportunities.           

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration is required

Master’s degree/Professional certification is preferred

 

Experience:

Minimum 6 years of relevant experience

 

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English language

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language
