Responsibilities

To support the technical requirements for implementation of laboratories and simulations; to provide support for equipment setup and breakdown, program simulation scenarios into software, operate software and audiovisual equipment during simulations, and provide onsite lab and equipment maintenance.

 

Key Duties:

 

1.Provide technical support and expertise for laboratories and simulation operations and technology. 
2. Operate, troubleshoot and maintain highly specialized lab and simulation technology, equipment and supplies. 
3. Manage the start-up, calibration, seamless operation and shut-down/dismantling of the high-fidelity human patient simulators, technology driven manikins and task trainers, virtual/haptic devices and digital/video interfaces used for simulation activities. 
4. Ensure all equipment for labs and simulations are running properly and efficiently. 
5. Serve as a resource for faculty utilizing labs and simulation equipment; collaborate and educate faculty to support teaching, learning and research using simulation technology. 
6. Provide specialized technical support for all simulation events using computer generated and high-fidelity manikins, virtual platforms and electronically driven resources. 
7. Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment required for labs and simulations. 
8. Lifting and transport of heavy lab equipment from one classroom to another
9. Manage the installation, testing and maintenance of software upgrades on all technology-based simulation resources. 
10. Evaluate need and oversee the orientation and training for faculty and students using existing and newly acquired technology to support teaching and learning. 

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelor's degree in health education program or relevant field required.

 

Experience:

Minimum 3 years' relevant experience required.
• Demonstrated technical experience of working in health science laboratories and/or medical simulations preferred 

 

Fluency in written and spoken English is required. 

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is preferred.
