University of Doha invites applications for the position of Strategic Planning and Risk Management Specialist reporting to the Manager, Strategic Planning and Performance.

Responsibilities

Successful candidate will:

 

        

  1. Contribute to the development, implementation and monitoring of UDST’s Strategic and Operation Plans.
  2. Develop, review and recommend overall risk management strategies including risk identification, analysis, response planning, monitoring and controlling to mitigate any potential adverse events that can impact UDST in any capacity.
  3. Develop and update the UDST’s Risk Management Policy and procedure and Risk Management Framework to enable Business Units to manage their risks and support effective decision making and prioritization.
  4. Develop and manage the risk register, in coordination with the Business Units.
  5. Coordinate with Business Units to monitor and report on risks and controls and actively support the ongoing enhancement of risk identification and reporting processes across UDST.
  6. Conduct comprehensive risk analysis to quantify potential risks and develop strategic recommendations and controls for risk reduction.
  7. Coordinate with relevant Business Units on risk related matters to provide advice on the actions that need to be taken across UDST while documenting and ensuring communication of key risks.
  8. Create and facilitate communication channels concerning key risks.
  9. Identify and propose KPIs related to risks.
  10. Develop and implement a risk assessment model, associated system and processes to monitor validity of risk modeling outputs.
  11. Gather risk-related data from external resources and internally to be used for risk management and strategic planning.
  12. Create, maintain and update database to generate reports, presentations for leadership that detail risk position in every aspect outlining findings, explaining risk positions and recommending changes.
  13. Conduct benchmarking studies on risk management and best practices.
  14. Support in the development of contingency plans to deal with emergencies.
  15. Aid to compile and communicate to Business Units the risk impact of regulations and ensure Risk Register is updated.

Qualifications

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is required
  • Master’s Degree is Preferable

Desirable: Qualification/certification in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional “PMP”, Master Project Manager “MPM”), and/or risk management (PMI Risk Management Professional “PMI-RMP”, Certified Risk Manager “CRM”, Certified Risk Management Professional “CRMP”)

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Strategic Planning and Risk Management; preferably in higher education institutions
