University of Doha invites applications for the position of Director, Finance n Finance Directorate.

Responsibilities

This position requires an energetic and enthusiastic individual who will lead, develop and implement Finance plans, policies and procedures to support UDST ’s strategy and operational requirements.

 

The successful candidate will lead and oversee activities relating to financial planning and control, managing relationships with local banks, managing all aspects of accounting as well as financial reporting, and ensuring the timely and accurate recording and reporting of all financial transactions

 

The successful candidate will lead the policy development initiatives for Finance in conjunction with the Vice President Support Services.

 

The successful candidate will lead and manage budget preparation and consolidation based on inputs received from all Business Units, including obtaining required approvals.

 

The successful candidate will lead the communication of approved budgets to all Business Units; monitor and report on the implementation and execution of approved budgets.

 

The successful candidate will oversee monthly financial reporting on the budget to identify differences between expenditures and allocated budgets, and develop and oversee the implementation of corrective action plans as required.

 

The successful candidate will lead the development of reports for various Government ministries (Ministry of Higher Education, MoADLSA, Ministry of Finance etc.) to ensure accurate and timely processing, in compliance with Ministry requirements and internal and external policies and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will manage all UDST accounting, budgeting and financial control and activities to ensure accurate and timely processing, in compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.

 

The successful candidate will oversee professional development support and perform periodic performance reviews for direct subordinates based on UDST ’s Employee Performance Management framework to ensure continual high performance of employees in alignment with UDST 's mission and mandate.

 

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, from accredited institution is required.

Professional certification is preferred.

 

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Finance, Accounting or similar field.

5 years of managerial experience.

 

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English language is required.

Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred.

 

Other Required Skills:

Highly motivated and innovative individual with an outstanding track record of leadership and management in a post-secondary institution. The candidate should have the ability to anticipate change and effectively manage quality and risk at all times.
